ABF® Antibacterial Finish

ducale + logo abf

ABF® is a transparent silver-ion coating that combines the high quality of the finish with the antibacterial effect, ensuring a high level of hygiene on treated surfaces.

Following the European standard ISO 22196, it is a finish composed of a polymeric base able to act actively on bacteria.

Also, there is an ongoing test to see if it also acts on organisms such as viruses, following the European standard ISO 21702.

Being a transparent top-coating, it can be applied to items such as handles, knobs, hinged doors, and finishes. It is also suitable for all domestic environments, for urban use and hospitals.

This finish has a bactericidal action and it can eliminate over 99% of harmful agents: thanks to its bactericidal action, ABF is the right solution for greater protection against bacteria and micro-organisms, enemies of health.

Finishes

F00 – Raw Brass Not Polished

The surface is subjected to mechanical abrasion giving the product a natural aspect. No protection has been used to avoid natural oxidation of the surface.

F19 – Silver Plated

The whole surface is subjected to an electrochemical silver treatment, with a level of purity 999/000, and then varnished to preserve its original bright features and its silvery beauty.

F1 – Polished Brass

The surface is polished. No protection has been used to avoid natural oxidation of the surface.

F20 – White

The whole surface is varnished; the surface appears mat white. The varnish used is a mix of polyester resins and special lightproof pigments.

F2 – Bronzed Brass

The whole surface is subjected to chemical oxidation (bronzing) resulting in a dark brown color; the surface is then varnished to keep its characteristics unaltered in time.

F23 – Black

The whole surface is varnished; the surface appears mat black. The varnish used is a mix of polyester resins and special lightproof pigments.

F3 – Satin Lacquered Brass

The whole surface is butter finished manually and finally varnished to keep its characteristics unaltered in time.

F27 – Oil Rubbed with Mat Varnish

The whole surface is subjected to chemical oxidation, bronzing, obtaining a dark brown color and later coated with a thin layer of mat varnish to keep its characteristics unchanged.

F5 – Chrome Plated Brass

The whole surface is subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating; the surface appears perfectly polished and reflecting; this finish is mainly suitable where oxidation is very strong (i.e. seaside resort).

F35 – Sanded Gold Brass

The whole surface is first sandblasted, then subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating and finally varnished; the surface appears regularly mat and rough.

F7 – Scratched Bronze Brass

The whole surface is first butter finished after a chemical oxidation (bronzing), wich results in a dark brown color; the surface is then butter finished manually and varnished to keep its characteristics unaltered in time.

F41 – Oil Rubbed

The whole surface is subjected to chemical oxidation (bronzing), resulting in a dark brown color; the surface is then subjected to a natural wax deposition for greater uniformity and protecting the surface color. Due to the natural products used for this finish, the item will change in time by acquiring a more aging effect.

F8 – Polished Lacquered Brass

The whole surface is butter finished manually and finally varnished to keep its characteristics unaltered in time.

F44 – Antik Nickel

The item is first subjected to a special aging process, resulting in a worn-out effect. The whole surface is then subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating and finally to oxidation; it is then submitted to an abrasion treatment resulting in a natural aging effect and later coated with a thin layer of flat varnish, to keep its characteristics unchanged in time.

F12 – Gold Plated

The whole surface is subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating and then varnished to keep its characteristics unaltered in time; the surface appears polished and reflecting.

F47 – Antik Copper

The item is first subjected to a special aging process, resulting in a worn-out effect. The whole surface is then subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating and finally to oxidation; it is then submitted to an abrasion treatment resulting in a natural aging effect and later coated with a thin layer of flat varnish, to keep its characteristics unchanged in time.

F15 – Nickeled Brass

The whole surface is subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating; the surface appears polished and reflecting.

F49 – Antik Brass

The item is first subjected to a special aging process, resulting in a worn-out effect. The whole surface is then subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating per micron and then to oxidation; it is then submitted to an abrasion treatment resulting in a natural aging effect and later coated with a thin layer of flat varnish, to keep its characteristics unchanged in time.

F17 – Satin Nickeled Brass

The whole surface is subjected to an electrolytic treatment of metal plating; it is then butter finished manually and finally varnished to keep its characteristics unaltered in time.

P1 – Physical Vapour Deposition

This is a special coating for protection against atmospheric agent and domestic detergents; this treatment is based on the physical principle of vacuum metal evaporation, which, at a ionic state, condense by forming a deposit on a substratum after reacting with a gas and this forming a compound.
